Have a plan for your game day. Decide what you need to do in order to perform at your highest level and put all those elements in place. Don't leave game day to chance.
Minimize anything that can go wrong.
Don’t try anything you are not familiar with. From foreign food to brand new shoes to a different hair style, these are not things you want to try for the first time on game day.
Manage your stress.
Know that your nerves will be higher than normal and decide ahead of time what you will do to to stay grounded and focused.
Have a plan.
What time do you want to wake up? What do you want to wear? What do you want to eat? Have that with you. Don’t leave it to others to control what comes in your body.
People ask, “Oh, what do you eat on a day of a talk?” I say, “A banana.” That’s it, because I’ve never gotten food poisoning from a banana. I’ve never had any weird reaction to a banana.Traver Boehm
